1. Pre-Unit 1: Places
1. GRAMMAR. Definite and indefinite articles - I can use definite and idenfinite articles
with nouns (e.g. The agent showed me a house and a few flats. The house was
expensive, but the flats were cheap.).
1. VOCAB. Vocabulary related describe places - I can use adjectives to describe places
(e.g. This neighborhood is quiet and safe.).Cheap-safe
1. CRITICAL THINKING. Evaluate positives and negatives - I can talk about the positive
and negative aspects of living in a city (e.g. The nice thing about living in New York City

Places
1. GRAMMAR. Subject + verb / There is / There are - I can put the subject and verb in
the correct order (e.g. Bill goes to the office every day.). I can use "there is" and "there
are" when describing places (e.g. There are many museums in San Francisco.).
1. VOCAB. Vocabulary related describe places - I can use adjectives to describe places
(e.g. My house is quite small, but it's comfortable).

argument.

4. VOCAB. Collocations with temperature - I can use collocations with temperature (e.g.
The meteorologist predicted that temperatures would fall below zero degrees tonight.).

4. SPEAKING. Explain cause and effect - I can use expressions to explain cause and
effect (e.g. As a result of CO2 gases, the ozone layer has become increasingly
damaged.).

4. GRAMMAR. Comparative and superlative adjective - I can use comparative and
superlative adjectives to talk about the weather and climate (e.g. Kuwait was the hottest

virus.).

in/on a graph.
