In the first place, the COVID-19 pandemic that began in Mexico at the beginning of
April 2020, gave a lot of uncertainty about what was going to happen at the
national level with public affairs such as basic education. This situation opened the
door to distance education and the implementation of new technologies for
educational use.

With the confinement, the school population in Mexico had to adapt to the use and
management of video calling platforms, social networks and technological devices.
However, a word also emerged, which would describe all "educational lag." The
latter brought with it the reality of the majority of the student population that is
attached to a public school. Inequality, lack of economic resources, child labor, lack
of basic conditions such as electricity, water, internet as the main tool for remote
work.

It is clear that this lag is even more marked by the social inequality that boys and
girls were going through these situations. By the beginning of 2020, basic
education in Mexico faced figures according to the (INEGI) National Institute of

Statistics and Geography (98.7%) of the population ranging from 6 to 12 years old
corresponds to primary education (part of the mandatory levels), As age advances,
the gradual decrease in participation within the educational system can be noticed.

the other hand, also as a basic education teacher, I consider that it is necessary for
the school authorities to accompany the teacher in the educational process to
provide digital and non-digital resources, and thus build plans and programs
curricula that are easily accessible to learners.
