Shor tile and commencement: (1) This Order may be called “Odisha Police Service (Method of Recruitment end Conditions of Service of Sub-Inspectors) Onder, 2021", (2) This shalt come into force on the date of its publication in the Odisha Gazete 2. Definitions: Inthis onder, unless the context etherwise requires (2) “Appointing Authority” means the Range L.G.of Police or D. 1.G. of Police asthe case may be. (©) “Excserviceman” means a person as defined inthe Oulsha Ex-seevicemen (Recruitment ‘0 State Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1985; (©) “Board” means Odisha Police Recruitment Board "Districts" shall include all Revenue Districts including. "Police Distits" like Bethampur! Rourkela’ GRP, Cutack and GRP, Rourkela’ Urban Police Distict, ‘Bhubaneswar! Reservation of vacancies: Notwithstanding anything contained in this Onder, vacancies shall be reserved for ‘andidates belonging tothe Scheduled Casts end Scheduled Tribes in accordarce withthe ‘provisions contained in the Osha Reservation of Vacancies ia Posts and Services (For ‘Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Act, 1975 and the rules made there under and for «candidates belonging to SEBC category! ex-sevicemen/ women! sportsperson in accordance ‘withthe provisions made under such rules orders or instructions issued inthis regard by the Government from time to time for direst recruitment only and other relevant Government _idetine regarding reservation as prevalent. ‘Provided that physically disable persons shall not be cigibe for recruitment tothe post. of Sub-Inspector. 6, Determination of vacancies; (1) Vacancies in the santioned posts tobe filled up from time wo time, in the rnk of Sub- Inspectors of Police, shall be determined by the D.G. & 1G. of Polie, This stall include ‘the anticipated vacancies, not exceding the sctual number of police officers ‘superannuating in the rank of Sub Inspector of Police by the end of the calender year. (2) The Odisha Police Recruitment Board shall aay the vacencies ler approval ftom the Govemment for direst reeruitment, giving the detiled break up of reservation. They ‘would also verify the breakup of reservation and suity itself that it isin wsordance ith the rules applicable before advertising the vacancies. (G) The Odisha Police Recruitment Board shall reruit only forthe vacancies tobe filled up by direct recruitment. Promotional vacancies shall be filled up by the Site Police Headquarters, 7. Direct Reeruitment: Direet recruitment shall be done by Odisha Police Recruitment Board by open sverisement of vacancies, PARTE ‘8. Bligiiityeviteria for Diret Recruitment: (2) Age tiie @ The candidates shall not be fess than twenty one years and not more than went five years of age as on the 1* day of January of the year in which open ivertsement is published inviting the applications. {@) The upper ge limit is relacable by 5 year in respect of the SCISTISERC candidates. The examination shall be conducted in a transparent manner using OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) or OCR (Optical Character Recogition) sheet or Computer Based Testor any othe objective modern method of assessment in vogue at relevant point of ime. ‘Tere shall be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong. answer in written amination 10, Syllabus forthe writen examination: (2) General English ‘The aim of the paper is to test the candidate's ability to real and understand serious lscursive prose and to express his ideas clearly and comely in English. The questions shall et general awareness ofthe candidate ofa variety of subjects covering various Gelds of knowledge as expected from any graduate “The questions shal be in English and the candidates shall be required to answer “The paper on General Studies wil include questions covering the following fields of knowledge (1) General science and recent scientific technologies development : Questions will test the candidate's ewareness in the field of science and technology including matters of every day observations and experiene. (@) Current event of national and international importance: Questions sal be test the knowledge of sinifieant national and intematioal events and of the topies of soa relevanesin the present day India, (6) istory of India rom ancient mes and indian National Movement: Emphasis wll be on testing the general understanding of social, economi and poitical aspects of the Indian Hisory. Questions on Indian National Movement will relate tothe nature & character of the nineteenth century resurgence, growth ‘of Nationalism, attainment of Independence and role of leading personalities inthe freedom movement. (4 Indian and World Geography : Emphasis will more be on geography of Ini. The questions will lat to physeal and economie geography ofthe country It shall cover the main festres of Indian agriculture and national resouress (5) Indian polity and evonomy : Questions on Indian polity and economy stall be ‘on politcal system, Constintion of India, Panchayati Raj edministation, Principal earures and characterises of Indian economy, planing ard economic development of Indi (© Menta bility and tes of reasoning (7) Numeric! sbitty test and arithmetic of H.S.C. standard (®) Basic computer literacy. 11. Merit List: (1). Marks of the writen test and NCC Certificates shall be added for preparing the Mest List The Board mey prepare the reservation eategory wise Merit List based on the aggregate marks obtained by each candida |@) The excservcemen and the sportsperson, selocted aginst the vacances reserved for them shall be entitled for reservation as per relevant rules governing reservation applicable at that point of ime. (8). The Board shall propre the Merit Lists as per rule 16. 1, ‘Sponsoring of candidates by the Odisha Police Recruitment Board: (1) The Board shall sponsor exactly the same numberof candidates asthe total number of ‘vacancies ntfed witht The names of such candidates shall be arranged in the order of ‘merit There would bono reserve list / wang ist, (@) In the list of sponsored candidtes, those claiming the reserved vacancies shall not freeed the number of vacancies reserved for that category and notified in the jent advertisement. In the matter of reservation the circular issued by ‘Government fom ime to time shall be applicable. Select List: (© The D.G.& LG. of Pole shall peruse the list of candidates sponsored as above by the Odisha State Police Recruitment Board, He may compare them with the vacancies, ‘hich were notified withthe Osha State Plise Recruitment Board, and may seek any larfcation from them, ithe isnot satisfied with it (@) After receipt of clarifications, iTany, he will accept the lst of sponsored cantidates, On bis acceprnce, it will become the Select List forthe purpose of appintinent of ‘candidates.
