Re: Letter of Recommendation for Breanne Caldwell

To whom it may concern:

I am pleased to act as a reference for Breanne Caldwell. Over the past two years, I have taught
alongside Breanne in the Literacy and Essential Skills program at Bow Valley College, and I have
personally had the privilege of observing her teach.

Breanne is a very talented educator. She is skilled at differentiating her teaching strategies to meet
complex learner needs, and I can attest that she is student-centered in her approach to teaching. Key
to her success is that Breanne invests time to build a personal rapport with each individual student.
She validates learners by identifying their needs and barriers, and she capitalizes on each moment in
the classroom by engaging learners through innovative approaches. She inspires students to be more
confident and self-determined, and her success is evident in her students’ academic achievement and
personal growth. Breanne was also an exemplary team player who adapted quickly to dynamic
circumstances. While she is a specialist in math and science, she was able to pivot when asked to teach
in new disciplines like Language Arts. Some of her achievements teaching Language Arts included
introducing contemporary Canadian texts, implementing competency-based performance tasks, and
creating novel materials to increase awareness of Indigenous history and culture. She is a highly
creative, dependable and capable teacher who proactively takes initiative.

Breanne epitomizes how educators like to define themselves. She teaches with a rare conviction that
honours the integrity of the profession, and I have no doubt that she will become an asset to any
organization who employs her. It is without reservation that I recommend Breanne Caldwell for
employment.

Sincerely,
