My Family Tree

Follow these directions to make a

family tree. When finished, take a
picture and submit to your teacher.
1. Find a twig with
many branches.
2. Put a lump of
clay in the bottom
of a paper or sty-
rofoam cup. Insert
the twig securely
so that it remains
upright.

3. Cut out big leaves from the green con-

struction paper. Each leaf will represent
a person in your family and should be big
enough to write that person’s name on the
leaf. Cut enough leaves for each of your sib-
lings, parents, and grandparents.
4. Write the name of each person on your
leaf.
5. Punch a hole in each leaf.

6. Tie the leaves to the tree. You and your siblings are
at the top of the tree, your parents at the second level,
and your grandparents are at the bottom. If you want,
you can use photos, and paste them on the leaves.
Use the template below for your leaves.
