Streamlining and Standardizing the Tech Transfer Process to Allow You to Focus on What
Matters.
How It Works
Features:
Transferring process know-how from one business to another is laden with the risk of
catastrophic failure. If the transferring organizations devote sufficient resources to the
endeavour, the quantity and severity of errors and miscommunications may be reduced and
avert failure. However, the work required to achieve the necessary mitigation may be more
excellent than most businesses are willing to invest. The time available for the effort is
nearly always short.
For example, compiling the information for the transfer of a synthetic route from a pilot plant
to a manufacturing facility and presenting it in a way that ensures the receiving party
understands the information often takes one or two specialists 4 to 6 weeks. Using the Tech
Transfer Tool to semi-automatically develop a recipe for each step, which then fully
automatically creates bills of material, parameter tables, process flow diagrams, reactor fill
volumes, and IPC test lists, subject matter experts can spend a week or less. We anticipate
that the tool will save 3 to 5 weeks for each transfer.
Not only do the specialists spend less time compiling and presenting the process
information, but the receiving parties receive it in forms that are beneficial to the process
engineer, plant scheduler, analytical chemist, quality assurance manager, and materials
manager. In addition, because the material is given in several formats, subject matter
experts are considerably less likely to overlook important details or overlook mistakes. For
example, a mistake in transmitting the proper value of a parameter might result in the need
to repeat process validation, which might cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and delay
the commercial launch of a new product, which might cost millions of dollars.
