“Tell

me About Yourself”

My name is John Luis B. Manrique and I was born in October 7,1999 from
Tanauan City Batangas. My father is Joel Manrique, deceased and my mother is Luz
Batobato, Factory dress worker. I have 8 siblings, 4 of them are my step siblings on my
father's side, 1 of them is on my mother's side and we’re 3 on both sides. My step siblings
on my father's side have their own lives while my sibling on my mother's side is still a
preschooler. My older sister(on both sides) has one baby and another upcoming baby. I
am the youngest of siblings(both sides). Me and my second of the siblings are still single.
I love listening Music, reading books, watching anime and playing Chess.
When I was a kid, I knew that I was an introverted, mysterious weird guy who
only played with a few neighbours (childhood friends). When I was in grade 1, I pooped
in my pants, so that I have no friends when I was an elementary student up to Grade 7. I
was bullied several times. Until the time when I met my new classmates in Grade 8(I
transferred from Bernardo Lirio to Tanauan City Highschool). I felt like I’m one of them,
they treated me like we were cheatmates but still I was bullied. Grade 10, I was betrayed
by some classmates. They only wanted to compete with High honor, not to help others.
But I realized the only one who would help was myself. Before I completed junior
highschool, I promised to myself I would forgive them despite everything and yeah I
forgave them. Senior high is the best year of my highschool life. They accepted me like
their family members (my classmates and teachers), even though I stopped Grade 12,
they never forgot me. I stopped Grade 12 because of family and financial problems.
Because of financial problems, me and my sister had to pick, Allow me to finish grade 12
or allow my sister to finish college. But we didn’t regret our decision, My sister was a
Cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After that I continued Grade 12 at
Tanauan City Integrated School and graduated. I stopped for 1 year because of the
pandemic and got a financial problem again. I found BSU and I grabbed the opportunity
to apply. Luckily, I am here now.
