HƯỚNG DẪN CÁCH VIẾT MỞ BÀI VÀ KẾT BÀI IELTS WRITING

(Đọc kỹ lưu ý cuối hướng dẫn này)

1. MỞ BÀI

Khi viết mở bài (Introduction) của đề bài dạng Opinion và Discussion, chúng ta cần
truyền tải đủ hai thông tin cơ bản (1) giới thiệu về chủ đề của bài – topic
introduction và (2) quan điểm của người viết. Đối với các bạn đặt mục tiêu band
điểm viết cao (7.0+) thì nên có thêm gợi mở về nội dung chính của các đoạn thân
bài. Đa phần các giám khảo anh/ mình hợp tác cùng đều viết Introduction có hai
câu, khéo léo thể hiện các nội dung trên.

Nhìn chung, có hai công thức viết mở bài sau đây:

 Cách 1:
Câu 1: Giới thiệu chủ đề của bài
Câu 2: Nêu ra quan điểm và gợi mở nội dung theo cả hai hướng.

Ví dụ 1:

Question: Some people think that hosting international sports events is good for the
country, while some people think it is bad. Discuss both views and state your opinion.

Introduction: International sporting events have become increasingly common in recent

decades. While some people reckon that host countries might have to deal with a
sudden surge in crime or involve themselves in an exhausting preparation process,
more importantly I believe they can take the opportunity to boost tourism.

Ví dụ 2:

Question: In some countries, more and more adults are continuing to live with their
parents even after they have completed education and found jobs. Do the advantages
outweigh the disadvantages?

Introduction: In recent years, the number of adults still living with their parents has
been on the rise due to recent economic upheaval. While some argue that this trend
helps cement relationships between members of a family, I believe it is largely
disadvantageous due to the growing dependence of children on their guardians.

Ví dụ 3:

Question: It is important for all towns and cities to have large public outdoor places
like squares and parks. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Introduction: The initiative to promote outdoor spaces in metropolitan areas has gained
in popularity in recent years. Although these public places might result in a minor

uptick in crimes, I personally support such forward-looking policies considering their
effect on public health.

 Cách 2:
Câu 1: Giới thiệu quan điểm và gợi mở nội dung của một hướng.
Câu 2: Nêu ra quan điểm và gợi mở nội dung của hướng mà người viết ủng hộ.

Ví dụ 1:

Question: Some people say free time activities for children should be organized by
parents. Others say that children should be free to choose what they do in their free
time. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Introduction: It is sometimes argued that parents can effectively plan their children’s
free time activities thanks to their experience and maturity. However, I am of the
opinion that letting them be more autonomous better nurtures their inborn talents.

Ví dụ 2:

Question: Some people think young people should follow the traditions of their society.
Others think that they should be free to behave as individuals. Discuss both views and
give your opinion.?

Introduction: It is sometimes argued that the traditions of a society are crucial to the
cultivation of well-adjusted adults. However, I would side with those who argue that
greater autonomy better nurtures creativity..

Ví dụ 3:

Question: Some people think that mobile phones should be banned in public places like
libraries, shops and on public transport. To what extent do you agree or disagree with
this statement?

Introduction: Some people applaud the prohibition of mobile phones in public spaces
considering the possible disturbances resulting from notifications and bright screens.
However, I believe mobile phones should be allowed in order to enable convenience
for individuals at public facilities.

2. KẾT BÀI

Khi viết kết bài, có hai nội dung cần phải được truyền tải đầy đủ (1) tóm tắt nội dung
chính của bài, bao gồm cả quan điểm cá nhân và (2) đưa ra dự đoán hoặc đưa ra một đề
xuất liên quan đến vấn đề được thảo luận. Đa phần các giám khảo anh/ mình hợp tác
cùng đều viết phần kết bài có hai câu. Một số ví dụ cụ thể như sau:

Ví dụ 1:

Question: Some people think that hosting international sports events is good for the
country, while some people think it is bad. Discuss both views and state your opinion.

Conclusion: In conclusion, although sports events come at the expense of a few

immediate problems, the benefits of boosted gross sales and cultural promotion are of
greater significance. In my opinion, host nations can also consider the option of sharing
an event with a neighboring country to spread the risk and still enjoy the lucrative long
term benefits.

Ví dụ 2:

Question: In some countries, more and more adults are continuing to live with their
parents even after they have completed education and found jobs. Do the advantages
outweigh the disadvantages?

Introduction: In conclusion, although young adults might be better supported

emotionally in staying home, over-reliance on one’s parents is not a wise path towards
becoming a welladjusted, high-functioning member of society. In my opinion,
teenagers should start taking full responsibility for their lives at the age of 18.

Question: Some people think that mobile phones should be banned in public places like
libraries, shops and on public transport. To what extent do you agree or disagree with
this statement?

Conclusion: In conclusion, although the use of phones might be a distraction in public

spaces, I am of the opinion that the total experience of users in public places is more
important. Therefore, service operators should invest more in researching user
behavior to develop more useful apps.

LƯU Ý:

- Các kiến thức và công thức trên không nên áp dụng cho các bạn đang đặt mục
tiêu 6.0- vì cách viết này đòi hỏi người viết có khả năng từ vựng khá trở lên, tốc
độ viết khá khoảng 300 từ/ 40 phút.
- Quan trọng nhất đối với học viết là luyện tập nhiều và được chấm chữa bài. Mọi
kiến thức, tài liệu, công thức đều sẽ không có tác dụng nếu bạn không luyện tập
và được sửa lỗi kỹ càng.
