 Mountaineer: A person who takes part in mountaineering.

The Canadian mountaineer was the first to reach the peak of the mountain.

 Numb: To be unable to feel anything.

My fingers were numb from being out in the cold for so long.

 Log book: A written record of activity, events, or travel.


I brought my log book with me to record events and details on my trip.

 Set out: To start an activity with a particular aim.

They set out to discover a new species.

 Thick: Relatively great in extent from one surface to the opposite.

The snow was so thick that the car got stuck.

II PART : Write a paragraph using the following words( 15 points )

Blizzard, overflowed, hurricane, numb, documentary , summit, lit, drought

Last night I watched a documentary with my family about the different types of natural
disasters. In the documentary they talked about a blizzard that happened at the summit of a
mountain and how your body could go numb from the cold. Then they mentioned how badly a
hurricane could affect a town that had overflowed with rain and how the sky lit up from the
lighting. Lastly, they talked about the damage a drought cause and how the farmers and their
crops are affected.
