Chinese culture is a set of beliefs,
customs and artistic expressions that
extends over a vast territory and
combines elements passed down for
hundreds of generations with current
creations.

It is one of the oldest cultures in the


world and still preserves much of the
thinking and customs founded
thousands of years ago.

The complexity of this culture is due not


only to its antiquity, but also to the vast
territory it represents, which includes a
great variety of traditions.

CHINESE FESTIVALS

The customs and artistic forms of a culture can


be observed in festivals. In China, the Spring
Festival, which marks the beginning of the
Lunar New Year (end of January or beginning
of February), is celebrated in particular. Two
weeks later, the Lantern Festival, which
commemorates the Buddha, is celebrated.

CHINESE PAINTING

Traditional Chinese painting emerged as a


derivation of calligraphy. That is why it
stands out in its detail and uses the same
elements: brushes, ink and rice paper.
With respect to its content, Chinese painting
usually represents:
- Paintings of flowers and birds
- Landscape paintings
- Portraits
- Animals
TRADITIONAL CHINESE COSTUMES

Traditional costumes in China are currently


only worn at ceremonies and festivals. If you
walk around the cities or villages you will
see that people wear the western way of
dressing. The traditional Chinese costume is
the Hanfu, a tunic and narrow skirt of
various colors other than yellow, since only
the emperor could wear this color.

THE FAMILY

was considered the social structure par excellence.


It was the foundation of the state. In general, the
Chinese family consisted of father, mother and
children. In the family nucleus, respect for the
elders and care for the children was instilled as a
tradition.
The man was considered the head of the family
and had absolute power to deal with family matters
and the younger generations were deprived of the
right to make decisions.

This is interesting for all travelers, since its gastronomy has many unique flavors of  its

Kung Pao Chicken 

Also known as Gong Bao or Kung po that


means “Guardian del palacio” ,This dish is
basically diced chicken cooked with penatus
(it tradicional name in Colombia maní),the
ingredients are cucumber, peppers and this
is moderately spicy with tender meat and
delicious flavor, is from province of Sichuán,
it is most popular for its good arrival to U.S.,
where his name became very famous on TV.
