1. Explain what is wardriving?

 The act of searching for wireless network from any portable device.
2. Explain what is Spyware?
 software that lets one person to obtain another’s information
3. Explain what is Cookies?
 cookies are text files with a little data that contains the username and password
4. What are the 3 main devices needed to do Wardriving?
 a portable device,a wireless network card,an antenna
5. Explain 2 effects of Wardriving and Spyware?
Wardriving.
effects-enables hacker to gain access to any device if he’s connected to wifi.
hackers can find your personal information and this could lead to identity theft .
precautions
Spyware.
effects- slowing down the processing of the device and can damage files.
person gains information of what the other person is typing.

6. Explain 2 precautions of Wardriving and Spyware?

Wardriving
Precaution-turn off your phone or laptop
Turn off wifi from your device
Spyware
Precaution-don’t download suspicious looking email attachments
Don’t click on online popups

a) Sam, Bob, Tom and Harry have some problems with their computers. Identify the
problem and advice each person with a precaution method.

“I have been redirected to a bogus website,

Bob that claimed to transfer $1000,000 if I give
my Bank details. The link was sent to me
via Email”

Tom “My files are becoming corrupted and they

keep getting deleted. The whole problem
began when I downloaded an App from a
fake website”

“I only use my WiFi for Web browsing and

Sam Youtube, but my bill amount exceeds
$6000 and the report says that I have been
downloading movies everyday”

Harry “My friend was able to get my computer

password. But not my phone passcode. I
remember him using my PC few days ago”

Advice-don’t give your bank details unless you are familiar with that site
Precaution-don’t click on a suspicious source, check whether that link has an https and a padlock
symbol
Tom.
Advice-first of all don’t click on websites that you know when its fake….after downloading you
have got a virus that keeps deleting your files or corrupting them.
Precaution- download and install an antivirus software,its better if it’s a paid antivirus.
Sam.
Advice - someone else is using it out of your house
Precaution- change your wifi password to a stronger one or encrypt your password
Harry.
Advice- make sure he doent mention it to any one else
