3 CONSTRAINTS: TIME, COST AND QUALITY
COST: The project has to stay within the budget. It includes resources and
budget.
TIME: The project must be completed according to the project plan.
Milestones are immovable. It includes schedule and production rate.
QUALITY: The project needs to produce measurable results. It includes
features, functionality, performance and scope.
The shape of the triangle will not be equilateral most of the time because of
the change in cost, scope and time. For example change in cost of work will
affect the scope and time or change in scope will affect the other two
factors. The purpose of any Project Manager is to maintain a balance
between the three factors to make the project successful.
