The “CE Quiz Bee” is an annual skills competition which aims to reorient students of the Civil
Engineering fundamentals and concepts. The activity will demonstrate the range of Civil Engineering
student’s information, the solving problems potentials, the comprehensiveness and the amount of facts
and data and the total expertise on the facets of Civil Engineering. Further, the spirit of camaraderie and
sportsmanship would also be enhanced.

APPROACH/PROCESS
GENERAL MECHANICS
1. The PICE Online Quiz Bee contest is open to all First (1st) and fifth (5th) year students.
Participants must be enrolled this S.Y. 2020-2021.
2. Participants are given groups. Each Team is composed of every college year in the same
courses.
3. The PICE Online Quiz bee shall be composed of an Elimination Phase and a Final Phase. Both
phases are divided into three (3) rounds: Easy, Average, and Difficult rounds. The Elimination
Phase is composed of five (5) questions while the Final Phase is composed of ten (10) questions.
4. The questions to be asked in each round shall be from the following categories:
(TOPICS)
5. At the end of the Elimination Phase, the top 10 teams with the highest cumulative score will
only proceed to the Final Phase.
6. At the end of the Final Phase, the team with the highest cumulative score shall be declared the
Overall Winner. The next two highest scoring teams will be declared First and Second Runner
up, respectively.
7. In case a question relevant to the game arises, the attention of the Board of Judges and the
Quiz Master shall be called as soon as possible to resolve the question raised. The decision of the
Board of Judges shall be deemed FINAL.
8. Scores of the participating Team shall be shown after the end of each round.
9. All participants will be given Certificate of Participation and prizes for the winners.

Tiktok is addictive. The myriad of creative short-form user-generated videos that fuel this
platform is trending like nothing we have seen before. Whether they’re cute, hilarious,
meaningful, shocking, or just fun to watch, TikTok videos have captured the younger generation
and are spreading like wildfire across society.
The addictive and viral nature of this form of content is perfect for an online media
contest. This platform can sends students kind of entertainment and fun after tribulations of
online classes and solving problems.

Guidelines

1. Open to all DWCL PICE students who are willing to join.


2. The criteria for judging are the following:
Creativity 40%
Impact/Entertainment Value 40%
Accuracy 20%
Total 100%
3. The decision of the judges are final and irrevocable.
4. The Tiktok video must be 15 seconds.
5. The participants are allowed to choose any music as long as there’s no bad words on it.
6. Tiktok artist must use #DWCLPICE in the uploaded video so it can be counted.
7. Comedy, Hand gestures, transitions, and acting are allowed
8. Videos will be played on facebook group. Officers will provide the FB Group
9. Failure to follow the guidelines will result to a deduction of one (1) point on their total score.

The poster making is widely-used communication tool for students to show and discuss
their own thoughts regarding to a topic and it aims to promote student appreciation towards the
course using creative arts.
VI. Objectives:

1. To widen the idea of CE students on related fields____________________________


2. To promote CE works thru creative artworks _______________________________
3. To promote awareness and highlight the works and contributions in the field of Civil
Engineering __________

1. Participating Team ay chooses 1-3 members for the activity


2. The poster will revolve on the PICE national theme: “PICE Focus 2020: Understanding
the Past, Engineering the Future”
3. A time-lapse video while making this should be provide to avoid pre-made posters and
also plagiarism is not advisable
4. The participants will be given a headline for the submission of their posters with their
required time-lapse video

With the advancement of technology and entering in this so called “New Normal”
students learning became more digital. With almost every students now having a mobile phone it
is easy to document or to take photos. Capturing different fields and works of a Civil
Engineering that someday in the future will also be part of their life.

This past few months, Philippine was hit by s simultaneous typhoons. Not only damaging
infrastructures and crops, but also taking the lives of others. As a Civil Engineer different
preventive measures and structures can be proposed and be made. Being in field where
strength and numbers are most important thing, sharing ideas is the most important thing to do
right now.
