ENGINEERING GRAPHICS (CEIR-12)

End Semester Examination-March-2021

Max. Marks: 50 Time: 2 Hrs.

Number of questions to be attempted: THREE

Question number 1 is compulsory.
Note: Assume any missing data appropriately and mention it.

1. Using First angle method of projection, draw front view, top view and right side view of
the object shown in Fig 1. Arrow indicates the position of observer.
[F.V= 6, T.V= 6 S.V= 6 and Neatness =2]

Fig.1

2. A line AB, 70mm long is inclined at an angle of 450 to HP and 300 to VP. Its end point A
is on HP and 25mm infront of VP. Draw the projections of the line AB assuming it to be
in the first quadrant. Also locate its traces. [F.V= 5, T.V= 5, HT = 2,VT = 2 and Neatness =1]
OR
A circular plate of diameter 40 mm and negligible thickness rests on H.P on one of its rim and
makes an angle of 450 to H.P. Draw its projections keeping distance of the centre of disc
40 mm infront of V.P. [F.V= 7, T.V= 7, and Neatness =1]

3. A pentagonal prism of base side 30 mm and axis length 60 mm is resting on H.P. on one
of its rectangular faces, with its axis perpendicular to V.P. It is cut by the a plane inclined
at 400 to V.P. and perpendicular to H.P. and passing through a point 25 mm from rear
base of the prism draw its top view, sectional front view and true shape of section.
[Five marks for each view]
4. A pentagonal prism of base 30 mm and axis length 60 mm is resting on H.P. on one of its
rectangular faces with its axis inclined at 400 to V.P. Draws its projections.
[F.V= 7, T.V= 7, and Neatness =1]
OR
5. Using graphical method, analyse the truss (fig.2) for the support reactions and member
forces (magnitude and nature).
