From what I have read, I’ve realized that many theories were made as a result of the

discrepancies noticed by other people (this is good because it helped us explain and solve some of the
problems in today’s time, because if they haven’t noticed it, maybe it would remain until now and still
bother us). I think that theories are good because it can help explain why a certain thing happens or why
that phenomenon happens (it isn’t just simply about philosophy or just simply ideas that are impractical
because clearly, it can be applied to various situations depending on what is required or happening).
People make associations about theory (like it is just speculation or a conceptual idea) but it is far from
these wrong associations, theory explains what a thing is by establishing the relationship between the
different variables. We can even test the validity of a theory whether it is true or not because it is
understandable by everybody so they can access it anytime. And some may really say that your theory is
wrong, but then it is backed by evidence (so if they say that it is really wrong with all the empirical
evidence and thought process laid out, maybe they are haters (joke) or they simply can’t understand
your explanation). Theories are also related to research, because when you do one, either it is anchored
on these theories or you are the one making a theory. In relation to educational administration,
decisions and actions done by administrators should be anchored on these theories because as is it
always said and also mentioned here, administration is both an art and science (and so that maybe it will
be more unbiased? (For me) because you are just basing the decisions on the truth and being objective).
Now let us proceed to the different theories being discussed which is all about administration,
so theory x and y discusses the good and bad side of humans. Humans are inherently lazy or having a
dislike for work, must be threatened for them to work, indolent, etc. but this can be related with school
because there, you are supervised by superiors if you are a teacher and if you are students, then by the
teachers. (I can relate a little bit because truthfully, I’m lazy and must be directed by my mother for me
to start doing chores but I’m trying hard to change) But humans are also creative, intelligent, if
committed will perform well, etc. so if administrators will believe this side of the theory, then they
would use democratic and participative leadership which is really good because everybody’s voice will
be heard and their different concerns and needs would be addressed.
In an organization, workers are like the blood in the body and if they don’t flow well enough
(work properly) then the we would probably die (that also happens to an organization if an employee
isn’t performing well and motivated to do his/her job). People are driven by different things to do well, it
may be his/her needs (theory of needs), the affiliation felt (need achievement theory) or even
reinforcement (reinforcement theory). But for me, what I relate with is the goal setting theory because
when I set goals for myself, I try my very best to achieve it and even if I do fail, I take it as a lesson and
never give up. This is like educational institutions setting their vision and mission and their goals, which
they follow thereby making themselves an outstanding institution (example is giving students quality
education so they hire quality teachers and do their best to give the students an environment where
they can grow and prosper). Another theory that resonates to me is the locus of control theory that is all
about control and I choose to believe that I have control over myself so what I do and the outcomes of it
is because of me, not others. If I succeed, then it is through my hard work, if I fail then I need to try
harder and plan better. (Example: administrators can’t keep on blaming the teachers for the failure of
the school, maybe he/she is at fault to? and there are also many factors involve so don’t keep blaming
the employees). Overall, I can say that motivation and satisfaction can come from different places, but it
is yourself making the decision so choose wisely and for the side of the administrators, include the
employees and not just yourself when thinking or deciding on anything (this way both sides will be
satisfied).
