Electric Air Electric Aircraft and the Environment: A Literature Review1

For expanding cities and metropoles, combining social need, environmental effect, and
technical development has always been a difficult balancing act. The paper argues that if a
balance is struck between social necessity and environmental sustainability, advances and
improvements in electric aircrafts have the potential to lead society to a new style of
sustainable air travel. The absence of a requirement for rapid breakthroughs is one reason,
highlighted in the paper why electric aircraft technology has not evolved as quickly as other
technologies.
