(MTC). The Bay Area’s traffic congestion has worsened as about 13,000 automobiles cross

that the Bay Area is only second to Los Angeles in terms of traffic congestion intensity.
According to a UCLA study, the Bay Area’s economic growth in the preceding decade was
responsible for the inflow of residents. These are two instances of metropolitan cities where
traffic congestion is a problem.
