1.

Which perspective did this questionnaire indicate that you endorsed more strongly,
Theory X or Theory Y? Is this consistent with your own intuitive conclusion?
From the given choices, the sum of these points resulted in the “Theory Y”. At first, I was torn
choosing between the two but ended up strongly agreeing with Theory X, where some people
tend to be lazy, nevertheless, do the job anyway if they were being forced. On the other hand, as
my expectations were not met, resulting in “Theory Y” was not a bad thing either because I
believe that people are all different in numerous ways. Perhaps the person who's in charge must
be flexible and understanding enough to let herself coexist under such circumstances. Whereas
one must acquire good management skills, leading her employees towards the same
organizational goals with the company that they're willing to work for.

2. Do you tend to manage others in ways consistent with Theory X or Theory Y ideas?
From this point in time, I tend to manage others in the form of "Theory Y". Because as I grew on
reaching higher and higher levels in the academe, I learned to become the person who enhances
patience, understanding, and encourages my group to do the tasks willingly and cooperatively in
a way of motivating them that they can do it.

3. Can you recall any experiences that may have been crucial in defining or reinforcing
your Theory X or Theory Y philosophy?
Yes. There are some experiences that made me the person who exercises Theory X. One
situation is that when I always scold my sister, who happens to love idling so I ended up forcing
her to do the tasks needed and persuaded her for the responsibilities she has as the eldest from
the siblings.
Another narrative in a workplace where my cousin, who works in a gaming company that
encodes daily, told me that her co-employees always throw their job to her if they do not know
what to do. She then came up with an idea to not entertain anything from them unless it was
something important. This is her way of teaching them and not be too reliant on her.

Therefore, I think that "Theory Y" and "Theory X" could be both effective. There may be
instances that some people need the drive to work hard or the culture and vibe in the workplace
must be compatible with what they're looking for.
