EXPLANATION OF THE EVENT [FULFILLMENT OF OT PROPHECY]

• Third hour: 9 AM
• Last days: A period that began with the coming of Jesus Christ (Heb 1:2) and will end with the
Day of the Lord (His Second Coming).
• The first part of the prophecy was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost. The second part will be
fulfilled at the Lord’s Second Coming.

PREACHING OF THE CROSS AND THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST

• The miracles of Jesus were intended to testify His identity as Messiah and God.
• God the Father willed for His Son to die for the sins of the world. At the same time, the Jews
were responsible for His death.
• The resurrection of Jesus forms the central element of the preaching of the apostles.
• OT Quotations in Peter’s First Sermon: Joel 2, Psalm 16, Psalm 132, Psalm 110
• The transformed life of the new believers: Continual devotion to the apostles’ teaching,
fellowship (being and eating together), breaking of bread, prayer, selling property and sharing
their resources, and praising God.
