What is Photogrammetry?
• Photogrammetry is a method of surveying in which plans or maps
are prepared from photographs taken from suitable camera
stations.

• Photogrammetry is the science and art of obtaining accurate


measurements by use of photographs for various purposes such as
construction of planimetric and topographic maps, classification
of soils, interpretation of geology, acquisition of military
intelligence and the preparation of composite structures of the
ground.

the branch of

maps are prepared from
photographs of the
terrain in the area taken
by a precision camera
mounted in an aircraft
flying over the area
