The doctor suggested the mother to have an MRI examination, and 3


months later, the mother came back with the result.

Brain MRI: enlargement of cistern magna, hypoplasia of vermis and


cerebellar hemispheres, enlargement of lateral and third ventricles.

By the time of MRI result came, the baby was 13 months old, his head circumference
was 50 cm and was able to sit by himself. The Pediatrician diagnosed the baby for
having Dandy-Walker Syndrome based on clinical presentation and MRI result. The
doctor told the mother that the baby might need a surgery for his condition, but the
mother said she need time to discuss it with her family. The doctor scheduled for a
monthly follow up.

A month later, the mother came back for another follow up for the baby. The baby was
14 months old. His head circumference was 50.5 cm, his weight was 9400 grams and his
length were 75 cm. He started to stand with assistance just this past week. The mother
also reported two episodes of tonic clonic seizure that lasted for a minute 2 days and a
week earlier. After the seizure the baby was sleeping, and when he was awake, he
showed no abnormatily, so the mother did not take him to any health facility for the
seizure.
