CHAPTER II

METHODOLOGY

The accuracy of the findings and conclusions is highly dependent on the

nature of the research, data collection, and data analysis. The chapter

describes the process of research used to perform the report. This includes the

research design, materials and procedure, data analysis and instrumental and

data collection.

Research Design

In conducting the study, the researchers used the descriptive survey

research method.

This method aims to identify current facts in the analysis which should

serve as a process of data. As demonstrated by (Calmorin, 2007), descriptive

work is useful in providing information on which scientific decision can be

based: providing processes, attitudes, methods and procedures: taking a major

role in the creation of tools for evaluating several things: and formulating

policies at local, national or international level. This research was designed to

analyse the factors influencing customer satisfaction service experience.

Materials and Procedure

Frequency count and percentages was used for the treatment of the

respondents' profile data. The weighted mean was used to evaluate the

effectiveness of electronic gadgets to the academic performance of senior high

school students in San Gabriel, La Union.

Data Analysis

The study will be conducted at the Senior High School in San Gabriel, La

Union. Purposive sampling method is used to gather data of at least 100

respondents for the study.

Purposive sampling, also known as judgmental, selective, or subjective

sampling, is a form of non-probability sampling in which researchers rely on

their own judgment when choosing members of the population to participate in

their study. Purposive sampling enables researchers to squeeze a lot of

information out of the data that they have collected. This allows researchers to

describe the major impact their findings have on the population.

(https://www.surveygizmo.com). The researchers floated 100

questionnaires at the Senior High School San Gabriel, La Union which is the

needed data for the research.

Instrumental and Data Collection

For the purpose of this study a Questionnaire was used. Extra care has

been taken in designing the questionnaire for better clarity of question. (Yong,

et al., 2013) The questions used in the questionnaire were alternative questions

that were fixed; the questions are descriptive and offer respondents limited

options. This study can get direct answers and input from the respondents

through the questionnaire. Thus, the respondents gathered more accurate

information.

The questionnaire involves assessing the level of effectiveness of

electronic gadgets to the academic performance. The initial part of the

questionnaire contains the respondents’ profile. The second part of the

questionnaire provides the questions regarding the effectiveness of electronic

gadgets to the academic performances to students. The researchers asked the

respondents to use the Likert scale as a guide to assess the factors defined by

their level of satisfaction.
