AECC- ENGLISH COMMUNICATION

F.M: 50
Note: 1) There are three parts of the question. Part ‘A’, part ‘B’ and part
‘C’
2) Part ‘A’ comprises of five questions. Students have to attempt any
four out of five questions. All questions carry equal marks.
3) Part ‘B’ comprises of three questions. Students have to attempt
any two out of three questions. All questions carry equal marks.
4) Part ‘C’ comprises of two passages in English and in Hindi.
Students have to translate the passage from English into Hindi and
vice-versa. Both questions carry equal marks.

Part- A 4×5=20
1) How Lasswell has defined communication? Discuss with examples.
2) How much Braddock’s extension to Lasswellian formula is valuable in
communication? Discuss with examples.
3) Discuss different types of report and the salient features of report writing.
4) What is the difference between precise and paraphrasing? Discuss with examples.
5) Write a letter on behalf of the whole class to the Head of your department to arrange
some extra classes for the subject English. Discuss reason(s) for the same in the
letter.

Part-B 2×10=20
1) Define translation in detail and discuss the problems that a translator faces while
translating any text.
2) Discuss with diagram the Shannon and Weaver's model of communication and the
importance of De Fleur's Extention to that model.
3) Discuss the various advantages of report writing in detail with examples.

Part-C 2×5=10

1) अनच्ु ‍छेद का अग्रं ेजी में अनवु ाद करें

धपू और हवा

एक बार धपू और हवा में झगड़ा हुआ । दोनों ने ताकतवर होने का दावा किया । अंत में वे ताकत का एक परीक्षण करने पर
सहमत हुए। सर्यू ने कहा कि "यहाँ एक यात्री आता है। हम देखते हैं कि कौन उसकी बरसाती की उसे पट्टी कर सकता हैं ?"
पवन ने अपनी सहमति व्यक्त की और पहली बारी लेने का चयन किया । उसने सबसे मश्कि ु ल संभव तरीके से उड़ाया ।
नतीजतन, यात्री ने बरसती को अधिक मजबतू ी से अपने चारों ओर उसको लपेट लिया । अब सर्यू की बारी थी पहले तो वह
बहुत धीरे से चमकने लगा । सरू ज अपनी चमक को और तेज तेज करता चला गया। यात्री ने गर्मी महससू की ।उसने अपनी
बरसती को निकाल कर अपने बैग में डाल दिया। पवन ने अपनी हार को स्वीकार कर लिया ।

2) Translate the passage into Hindi

Sukanya Samridhi Deposit Account Scheme has been introduced vide Government of
India Notification No. G.S.R.863(E) dated December 02, 2014 and circulated to Banks by
Reserve Bank of India vide their letter No. RBI/201415/494/IDMD(DGBA).
CDD/No.4052/15.02.006/2014-15dated 11th March 2015. The accounts under this scheme
can be opened at any post office in India doing savings bank work and authorised to open an
account under the scheme or at any branch of a commercial bank authorised by the Central
Government to open an account under the scheme.
