Unit 1-4

For the simple past we use regular and irregular verbs. For example:
Regular verbs
I worked at a restaurant.
I prepared food.
I cancelled the meeting.
I walked a lot yesterday.
I watched tv last night.

Irregular verbs
I taught English classes
I knew Maria was crazy.
I rode my bicycle with her.
Lucia said my father is handsome.
I bought two laptops for my sister.

When you ask a question in the past, remember to use did and the
verb in present or infinitive. For example:
Did he clean the windows?
Did you write a song?
Did my sister touch your game console?
When you answer these questions, remember to use the verb in the
past if the answer is affirmative, but if the answer is negative you
put didn’t and the verb in infinite or present. For example:
Did he clean the windows? Yes, I cleaned the windows. / no, I didn’t
clean the windows.
Did you write a song? Yes, I wrote a song / No, I didn’t write a
song.
Did my sister touch your game console? Yes, she touched your game
console / no, she didn’t touch your game console

We use used to when you talk about something you used to in the
past but you don’t do it anymore now.
I used to play basketball
Carlos used to run everyday
My uncle used to work in a bank
Lorenzo used to sell aparments
