First, I will describe how prominent Rizal in Philippine country as he is one of the
national heroes who fought against Spanish to attain liberty for the betterment of
the country. Jose Rizal’s principles also influenced the youth by striving really
hard and he believed to elevate the country and develop people’s mentality, he
considered Education is a must so that the youth can refresh and maintain the
status of Philippine country such as leadership, skills and etc. To make him
better to the eyes of those who haven’t know him, it would be much better if I
start sharing Rizal’s early days or childhood on what Rizal was like when he was
younger. Telling about early days of Rizal to those who aren’t aware about him is
appropriate because it’s possible they think highly about him or Rizal is
indifferent because of his accomplishments so by starting to his biography may
link their interest and it may encourage or influence them that could result to
transform their lives. By doing these, I believe it will enlighten those who aren’t
familiar with Rizal to value and cherish the things that we Filipino experiencing
today. Rizal and those unnamed heroes who combats adversity to bring honor to
our nation and their death symbolizes their devotion to Filipino country.

There are lot of Jose Rizal’s literary works and two of his most popular novel are
Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. These two novels are considered as one
of the instruments that awakened the Filipino Nationalism and mostly every
young Filipino are familiar with the two novel and what did it led to the status of
Philippine country. But among all Jose Rizal’s work, I am more familiar about the
Kundiman since it is properly discussed way back to my Elementary years.
Kundiman captivated my interest since it was taught to us that it is a traditional
means of serenading in the Philippines and still relevant up to this day. I may not
remember the different classic kundiman songs but I will never forget its smooth
and gentle rhythm. Kundiman is about a love song sang by a young man to
serenade the woman he loves. The above kundiman is a poem written by Jose
Rizal to express his love for the Philippine country. This piece reflected his hopes
that one day the Philippines will be freed from injustice and oppression.
