Q : How to measure the Circumference of Car Tyre

Tools needed
Measuring Tap

Method
- Mark road surface and the tyre where both are in
contact.
- Mark point A on the road
- Move the car either by driving or
pushing and count the rotation every
time when the tyre mark touch the
road.
- Make 10 rotations and finally mark on
the road where it complete 10
rotations
- Mark that the point B on the road
- Measure the length A to B
- Divide the length by 10. The result will be the circumference of the road

Formula
Length from A to B = Final reading ( L2 ) – Initial reading ( L1 ) Working

Circumference = ( L2 - L1 ) / 10

Calculations
L1 = ______________

L2 = ______________

Circumference = ______________

Precautions:
- Avoid human error in counting the rotation
- Avoid parallax error
- Road should be level
- Tyre should move in a straight line
- More number of rotations more accurate result
