NUTRITIONAL STATUS

Nutrients are chemical compounds found in foods that help to maintain the body healthy, offer resources
for tissue growth and repair, and give energy for work and physical activity. The macronutrients, such as
vitamins A, D, E, and K, the B complex vitamins, and C, as well as minerals like as calcium, iron, iodine,
zinc, fluoride, and water, are among the most important nutrients.

FIGURE Percentage Distributions Showing the Nutritional Status Of Barangay NU Level 3

Pharmacy as of 2021.

Interpretation

The data shows that almost 81% of the surveyed are within
the normal range of their weight. Normal has the highest percent in
81%, followed by underweight 6%, overweight 13% being the last.
This means that almost 100% are still having proper nutrition and
eating the right quality and quantity of food.
Analysis

According to the results, about 81 percent of those surveyed are within the normal
weight range. Normal has the largest percentage (81%) followed by underweight
(6%), and overweight (13%) is the lowest. This indicates that practically everyone
is still receiving proper nutrition and eating the appropriate kinds of food in the
right amounts.

Health Implications
The level of nutrition that should promote the best possible health is referred to
as healthy eating. Although an overabundance of calories will cause obesity, a
nutritional deficiency can cause tissue depletion of vital nutrients, which can lead
to biochemical alterations and, finally, clinical indications and symptoms.
Nutritional needs vary by sex, age, activity, and physiological state, and are
modified by drugs, smoking, and alcohol, among other things. Reduced caloric
requirements, as a result of increasingly sedentary lifestyles and fewer physically
demanding employment, have made it more difficult to make nutritionally good
meal choices. The single most important aspect of preventive health care is
nutrition. Cancer, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, hypertension, arteriosclerosis,
and liver cirrhosis have all been linked to diet. Nutritional status can affect a
person's ability to respond to challenges including altitude, heat, trauma, surgery,
and illness. Nutritional status is reflected in a range of metabolic processes, which
can be used to assess it using a variety of approaches.

treatment in Private hospital/clinic. Followed by 16.67% which is public hospital
(Provincial) ,13.89% Public hospital (National),8.33% for public hospital
(District), Rural health units and Barangay health station shows same percentage
4.17% and non-medical /non trained and Others shows zero percentage.

Analysis
According to the data, 45.83 percent of Level 3 Pharmacy employees seek
medical treatment in a private hospital or clinic. Following those are 16.67 percent
for public hospitals (provincial), 13.89 percent for public hospitals (national), 8.33
percent for public hospitals (district), 4.17 percent for rural health units and
barangay health stations, and zero percent for non-medical/non-trained and others.
This indicates that majority of Barangay NU Level 3 Pharmacy are seeking
medical treatment in Private Hospital/Clinic because patients receive more
customized care and wait times are shorter in private hospitals since they have
more workers. There are fewer patients waiting for treatment in private hospitals
than in public hospitals. To limit the chance of complications, the private hospital
has adequate time to plan for the surgery and aftercare.
Health Implications
The lack of manpower at public hospitals poses a challenge when compared to
the number of patients. They don't have enough resources to provide the level of
care and attention that patients require. Patients receive customized attention in
private hospitals since they have enough workers. According to research, patients
admitted to public hospitals have a higher risk of contracting a hospital infection.
These infections can cause the patient's recovery to be slowed. There are fewer
admissions to private clinics unless the need is urgent. The majority of
procedures performed at private clinics are elective, and the patient decides when
they wish to have them. Public hospitals frequently have defective equipment and
a limited budget, limiting the types of equipment they can obtain. This has an
impact on the quality of medical care provided to patients. Patients are frequently
sent to other hospitals or private clinics for specific diagnostics. Private clinics,
on the other hand, have modern equipment that they employ to diagnose and treat
patients.

unless it has been adequately filtered and disinfected. Bacteria, parasites, viruses, and
other pollutants may be present in water from rivers, lakes, ponds, and streams. Surface
water must be treated before it can be consumed. Keep in mind that we use our drinking
water in a variety of ways. We use it to produce ice cubes, mix baby formula, wash fruits
and vegetables, and clean our teeth, among other things. You may be at risk if the water
is polluted. It may also be a worry to wash dishes, wash hands, shower, or bathe
depending on the type of contamination.

human waste. Waste from diseased persons can contaminate a community's soil
and water without proper sanitation, raising the risk of illness for others. Many
disease-causing substances can be slowed down by proper waste disposal.
Contribute in the spread of a variety of diseases and conditions that can result in
widespread illness and death. People without sufficient sanitation facilities are
frequently forced to live in and consume water from an environment
contaminated with the waste of infected individuals, putting themselves at risk of
infection in the future.
