The table below demonstrates the different targets of


dwellers paid a visit to the library with a view to reading,
borrowing and utilizing the internet in a separate year 2006.
As is illustrated by the table, the use of the internet
experienced an upward trend whereas the rate of people
reading newspapers and returning books underwent the
downward trends.
It is immediately apparent from the table, the readerships
of newspapers and magazines was the most widely-used at
4402 initially however, it dropped considerably to 3895
visitors and continuously declined and hit the lowest point
(3517). Similarly, starting at the highest (1965), the figure of
residents in order to borrow books continued to decrease but
hit a trough of 800 and became the less commonplace over
the same period.
In contrast, with only 780 initially, the quantity of internet
users saw a two-fold increase, surpassed that of the others
and reached a peak at 4010.
In conclusion, there were changing patterns in the
popularity of reading books and using the internet, from
being the most popular to the least and vice versa.
