WHAT IS AN INDICATOR?

An indicator is a tool that you can place on your chart which will follow the
market. Indicators have been researched extensively in many kinds of
markets such as forex, stocks, futures, options, etc. The general thought
process behind this research is that if the indicator is going up, you buy and
if the indicator goes down, you sell.

People are always looking for that perfect indicator that tells them
when/how to enter their trade so that the money just flows into their
account. However, there are theories suggesting that indicators lag and do
nothing more than just follow price.
