To get a clear understanding of SAP Analytics Hub, it’s recommended you familiarize yourself with some key terms:

Term Definition

Analytics Hub A system that connects to multiple BI systems and


provides centralized services for consuming trusted
BI analytics in a secured, cloud environment.

BI Analytics A pre-built analysis technique for extracting


business insight from data and creating alerts, lists,
and interactive data visualizations

Asset An object on the hub that contains links to BI


analytics and relevant information about them. An
object displays as a tile.

Content The information and links to BI analytics included


into an asset.

Facet An attribute or characteristic of a dataset, which is


used to group together values based on a category;
for example, "Geography" or "Business Unit".
Facets can be used to filter assets.

Layout The definition of metadata included in an asset and


how this information is displayed to business users;
for example, as fields or sections.

Structure An object on your hub that contains a hierarchy of


links to assets, BI analytics, and information about
the BI content.
