Introduction

With increasing warnings about security, it is easy to overlook physical security assessment as
an outdated concern (Țîțu, Pop, & Ceocea, 2019). This physical security assessment report
paper presents an excellently conducted evaluation of existing security programs in a
residential area. The information offers a great first impression towards making security
improvements and solving repeated security challenges. During the assessment, the exercise
examined all internal and external security programs elements, established weaknesses, and
practical recommendations were made for security improvement. Lastly, through the assistance
of the residential premises' security division, facility safety engineer, and administration, the
exercise identified areas that require closer integration to make operations more efficient.

Basic Threats

The assessment was conducted using verified inspection software that carefully examined
various areas, including geographic and demographic environment, existing security measures
and systems, accessibility, and asset evaluation. The security assessment also concentrated on
structural aspects, review of fundamental factors such as assessment, detection, response,
delay, risk management, integration, and protective measures to establish security risks.
However, this report noted that two cameras were not in good condition and required
replacement. There is no history of significant security threats at the residential premises. On
rare occasions, there have been unknown people who attempted to trespass; however, they
were immediately observed, intercepted, and interrogated for their actions. There is no history
of unauthorized intrusion into the installed electronic security system, including cameras and
alarm systems.

Layers of Protection

There are three main layers of security at the facility: human-driven and technology-driven
levels, divided into low, medium, and high models and instrumented by various pieces of
equipment, skills, and training. The residential premises' security division manages different
systems and measures that help achieve the facility and its environs. The physical layout of the
buildings within the closed-gate compound security features is contained in a well-designed
architectural drawing incorporated in the engineer's security plan. Further, the plan includes all
possible intrusion and exit routes into and out of the compound. Existing internal and external
security systems and measures include a guard post at the main entrance, placement of
fencing, electronic access doors, screening process at the main entrance, padlocks and key
controls, security cameras, a twenty-four-hour alarm monitoring, and contracted security guard
services. However, there is a need to include barricades, signage, suspicious activity incident
reporting, and modern electronic access badges for approved contractors or employees who
frequently access the compound for different services.

Levels of Security
There was no criminal intent or malice in each minor security threat at the residential premises,
including trespasses and sabotage. This assessment report further acknowledges that the
current human-technology security levels intelligently cooperate to protect the facilities from
targeted attacks. Procedures in place co-habitably function to protect the residents from
external threats. However, this report recommends that the need to prioritize improving both
levels of security by replacing the worn-out cameras. Also, priority must be assigned to the
three low, medium, and high layers to ensure that all residents are adequately protected (Țîțu,
Pop, & Ceocea, 2019).

Conclusion

The residential premises' existing security program is adequately resourced and effective in
managing and reacting to possible internal and external adversaries, particularly generic threats
by intruders. The facility must continue to assess, monitor, and effectively respond to its
security issues as they continuously evolve. This in-depth security assessment exercise is a
crucial undertaking to help the facility take better security measures. This report informs the
residential facility on its strengths and potential vulnerabilities to take corrective actions and
precautions for a more secure residential environment.
