5782 HOLY DAYS

INTRO
Our holidays take us
through a journey. One
that we go on as
individuals, in our hearts
and minds, and as a
collective.

Each year we return again,

to begin another New
Year.
Each year we reflect back
and we vision forwards.
We let go of what needs
to be released, with a
discernment that lightens
our load to march
forwards. We tread
lightly, yet boldly.

Authoring our own

book of life.

“The Hebrew Calendar is like no calendar that
exists in the world today. It is not a highway that
progresses from past to future in a linear fashion as
does the western calendar familiar to all. It is a
spiral staircase that winds around, cycling the
events of history, drawing their energy ever
upwards.” - Simon Jacobson.

Our Holidays are meant to

TRANSFORM & HEAL

both us and the world

We begin with a call of remembrance,
turning and returning to the root of our soul

I'm going to the woods, to remember,
to return, to bless, to be, to engage
my senses, to wildly dance among the
many divine sparks and mesh my
frequency to all the blessed beings.

I'm going to the woods to sit by fire,

splash in water, get kissed by air and
be held by earth.

There is a great turning, re-turning

happening in the world now, flow
with the shifting ideas, engage,
embrace, renew.

Begin Again
By Ester Eckhaus, Poet

Begin again
From the womb
You shared with a light
So overwhelming
It pushed you from its home
Out into the wilderness
Of this broken earth

There were no hands to catch you

As you fell from the gap
But branches
Of trees
Laid you down to rest
In the cradle of earth’s embrace
Begin again

Begin again
From the hands which curled your hair
Your lips
That spoke the first of the world’s breath
Into existence

Speak child
Speak unto the world
That which you have been created
To begin

Again

& REST
How can you build rest into your schedule?

Rest is rejuvenation
Rest is resistance
Rest is medicine

Go to your calendar. Make 3 day weekends,

schedule in naps, block off time for yourself,
draw from the wellspring of Shabbat.

Ceremony is accompanied by commitment:
to justice, freeing the oppressed + feeding the hungry!
