Starter Activity:
I will brainstorm the topic war of Independence 1857 and take random responses and 05 min
highlight the important one.
Methodology:
Focused discussion prompts: 15 min
I will give them the focused discussion prompts. And ask students to review the book
page no. 29 and 30 individually according to the given discussion prompt and mark the
important points.
Prompts:
 Aims of the rebels were vague and confused. They mostly wanted to
restore their old rulers and customs. Very few thought of a united
India ruling itself.
 No leadership qualities.
 Disunity among the people
 Different faith and regions.
 British determination.
 British strengths
Whole class discussion :
I will generate a whole class discussion and encourage students to share what they
understood through reading.
Assessment for learning: 5 mins
I will encourage students to share any 3 new things they learned through this lesson.
