The Best Way to Reduce Crimes

Nowadays, crime is increasing rapidly everywhere. There are many kinds of

crime that happen, such as assassination, sexual harassment, spoliation, and others.

The authorities have tried to solve that problem, but there is still not significant

change. It means they should give more punishment to the people who do a crime to

reduce that problem that happen in the country.

For examples, give longer prison sentences or take another alternative way like death

penalty. Although some people think that give longer prison sentences can reduce the

crime, death penalty is better than give longer prison sentences.

Some people think that give longer prison sentences is already enough.

However, it cannot be a guarantee that they will not do it again in the future. For

example as happen today, there are still some culprits who have been out of the

prison, but they do a crime again. Also, although the authorities have added the times

period of prison sentences, it can be not accordance if the crime that the culprit do is a

serious crime. For examples, if the culprit kills many people, the longer prison

sentences are still not accordance. So, give longer prison sentences is not enough to

reduce the crime.

Some people also think that give longer prison sentences to a culprit that

commit a serious crime can make them think twice to do the crime. On the contrary,

not all culprits think twice before they do a crime. Sometimes, they do a crime
without think about the effects that they will get, and they do not care about it.

However, if they think about the effects they will get like get in prison longer, it also

cannot be ascertained that they will change their mind not to commit a crime.

Especially, if the culprits have often committed crimes, it will be more difficult to

stop them just by giving them longer prison sentences.

The alternative way to reduce the crime like death penalty is more effective. If

there are many culprits who do a serious crime get death penalty, it can make people

afraid to do a crime. It is also an accordance penalty for the people who commit a

serious crime. Not only that, the country will also be more peaceful. Therefore, in my

opinion, death penalty is the best way to reduce the crime.
