2. Positive parenting training synergies with income and economic strengthening:
Positive parenting training help to reduce domestic violenece as well as community
violence to children. But it could be more productive in host area and camps if it
possible to make collaboration with an approach (Cash Transfer) of the Income and
economic strengthening strategy, Strategy-5 of INSPIRE handbook. As in vulnerable
familes, parents suffer from hardship and they get irritated with their children, often
with small issues and practice corporal punishment.

3. More active Community Based Child Protection Committee (CBCPC) : CBCP committees
supposed to organize regular meetings and identify area specific (Ward/Block) child
protection risks and take initiative to solve the problems. But according to informants,
many members of these committees are not proactive and meetings not conducted
regularly. So, if the CP actors facilitate all committee members taking proactive roles,
then the committees could prevent family level (violent parental conflict, early and
forced marriage) as well as social level (cultural norms which support violence) violence
more, both in camps and host communities.

4. Make Child Friendly Space (CFS) and Learning Centres (LC) more safe : : It is believed
that, in these safe spaces, children stay 2-3 hours in recreation, learning, playing games
and taking need based psycho-social (PSS) support in a violent free environment. But
according to some informants, many NGO’s are not cautious or have no regular
monitoring of CFS/LC environment, and sometimes children victimized of corporal
punishment in these safe spaces by the volunteers/teachers as they are not properly
trained on child care. If CFS turn more safer through regular monitoring then this good
practice will contribute more impact to prevent violence against children.

5. Increase the area of conditional cash transfer (CCT) : Department of Social Service
(DSS), of Bangladesh Government have a limited provision to provide cash grant support
for protecting child risk especially to prevent drop-outs for keep continuing their
education. This practice is only applicable for host communities and for very limited
children. If it introduce for Rohingya community also, it will help to reduce a number of
early marriages or child labor related cases.

6. Continue and replicate tele-conversation program in normal situation : According to

respondent, during lockdown situation a teleconversation model, actually an Early
Childhood Development (ECD) programconverted into 20 minutes tele conversation, by
BRAC was very successful to reduce mothers postpartum depression and fathers
engagement on parenting. If this program continue in both communities (host and
camps) and replicate by other NGO’s even in normal situation (lockdown free), it could
contribute to reduce domestic violence and violence against children effectively.
