Solutions should be submitted till 11:30 on March 30th 2021, Tuesday. Produce a PDF file consists of your
answers for Question 1 which written either by hand or by computer. Record a video file while you are
answering the Question 2. Upload the files to Ninova before the deadline. You can get 10 points from this
quiz. VIDEO FILE SHOULD BE 2 MIN-LONG IN MAX. The quiz duration is 45 minutes.

Question 1 (5 points):

The Fourier transform of a signal g(t) is denoted by G(f). Prove the following properties of the
Fourier transform:
a) If a real signal g(t) is an even function of time t, the Fourier transform G(f) is purely real.
b) If a real signal g(t) is an odd function of time t, the Fourier transform G(f) is purely
imaginary.

Question 2 (5 points): Video lenght should be less than 2 minutes.

• For which problems /aims / reasons do we use Fourier Transform? In which aspect, it is a
useful tool?
• What is the relationship between the time domain t , and the frequency domain f ?
• Does the Fourier Transform exist for unstable systems?

Good luck!
