WILLIS PIG LAUNCHER

AND RECEIVER VALVES
To maintain optimum operating levels,
petroleum pipelines require periodic pigging
to remove paraffin, scale, water condensation
and other elements.

Willis Pig Launcher and Receiver Valves are used
to inject and receive pigs so pipelines remain
clear and serviceable for transportation of gas
and/or liquid petroleum products. Periodic use
of the Willis system leads to trouble-free scraping
and eliminates the expense of hot oil treatments
and increased downtime.
The Willis Pig Launcher and Receiver system
offers a number of advantages over fabricated
trap systems:
1. The Willis system saves downtime.
The flow does not have to be shut in and the
compressor shut off during the launching or
receiving of pigs.
2. The Willis system is easier to install
and offers greater accessibility and reduced
maintenance costs. The simple design (fewer
leak points) and increased dependability (based
on the one valve versus five on a typical trap
system) also adds up to less downtime and
lower costs.
3. The Willis system simplifies field operation
and application of corrosion inhibitors.
4. The compact design of the Willis Pig
Valve requires a much smaller space than the
fabricated trap system - an important
consideration for offshore platforms where
space is at a premium.
5. The Willis Pig Ball Valve is designed with
a flowback capability, should plugging occur.
Willis Pig Launcher and Receiver Valves are
available in 2”, 3”, 4”, 6” and 8” sizes with
flanged, screwed, butt weld or special end
connections. They are available in working
pressures to 6000 psi and are available with
scraper and soluble balls.
