With substantial revision of practices of inspection, monitoring and maintenance of track alongwith modernization of track structure, provisions of this manual needed updation. Accordingly, with the approval of Board (ME), the existing IRPWM has been redrafted duly incorporating the provisions of LWR manual. Henceforth there shall be no separate LWR manual Vide above reference, IRICEN has been advised for taking necessary action for printing of redrafted IRPWM. Meanwhile, the redrafted IRPWM has been uploaded on the IRICEN website. The new manual contains provisions for Broad Gauge only, hence, provisions contained in existing [RPWM/LWR manual for MG/NG shall continue to be applicable. Railways are advised to download the redrafted IRPWM for all future references. Provisions contained in the redrafted IRPWM shall supersede all provisions of existing IRPWM and LWR manual.
