Procedure for Major CIP for Membrane Fouling.

1. We have to empty the Aeration tank (in that 20% Sludge Drain water should be
taken and stored in another movable storage drum ) other 80% Send to Sludge dry
bed or direct drain to Plantation Stream
2. After emptying the Aeration tank, clean the container with fresh water and then
remove membranes from membrane stack by opening union connection.
3. Wash membranes with fresh water carefully with pressure flow.
4. Now take 2 drums of 200 litres and make Citric solution (30%) by adding 2 kg of
Citric flakes in each drum and dip it for 6 hours.
5. After 6 hrs, take out membranes from citric solution and wash it again with fresh
water.
6. Again fill both 200 litres drum with fresh water and add 4kg of Sodium
Hypochlorite (10%) solution in each drum.
7. After 6 hrs, take out membranes from Hypo solution and wash it again with fresh
water.
8. And then again fit membranes as it was there in the stack
9. Then add the 20% Sludge Drain water which we have stored in a movable drum in
to the aeration tank and fill the remaining tank with the fresh water.
10. After addition of the 20% water and remaining with the fresh water kept the water
for 8 Hrs with Aeration
11. After 8 Hrs turn on the Plant in the Auto Mode and set the Permeate flow as 500
LPH initially and gradually within 2 days set it to 1000 LPH.
12. Set Backwash flow as 1500 LPH.
13. After that daily dose Hypo Chemical 100 gm in the Back-wash tank and weekly
remove the extra sludge as SVI increases from 30%.
