The wheel is a circular element that rotates around an axis.

It can be considered a simple

machine.
It is one of the fundamental inventions in the history of humanity, due to its great utility,
and also in land transportation.
In its primitive form, a wheel is a circular block in the center of which a hole has been drilled
through which an axle bearing is placed on which the wheel rotates when torque is applied
to the wheel. around its axis. The wheel and axle assembly can be considered one of six
simple machines.
History: Initially, the wheels were flat and solid, with a central hole for the axle.
Making a wheel required a lot of work and skill.
To fix the axle inside the wheel, metal tools were used, and methods were being
developed to carve perfectly round and uniform wheels.
Who invented the wheel?: Archaeological evidence suggests that the invention of
the wheel took place in Mesopotamia, in the Middle East, during the period between
the fifth and third millennium BC. However, who to award the first wheel to remains a
mystery.
Mesopotamians began using the wheel for the transportation of goods in a much
later period, between 3700 and 3200 BC. They used it in their carts and wagons,
which included four wheels and two axles.

Uses of the invention

Wheels are used in a multitude of applications, some very common are:

• Facilitate the movement of objects; as in wheelbarrows, cars, bicycles,
scooters, moving walkways.
• The wheel is a simple machine and its function is to provide a mechanical
advantage.
The conclusion is that we agree that the wheel is a very important invention since
today it is in everyday use and in one way or another we can see wheels
everywhere.
