Problem: Determine the quantity of cement, sand, gravel and CHB including tie wires needed to construct
one portion of the fence shown with the given specifications. Summarize your answer.

Specifications:

a. Walls
- 4” thk. Concrete hollow blocks.
- Reinforced with 10 mm dia. bars, with the ff. spacing:
o At every 2 layers horizontal bars
o At every 400 mm o.c. vertical bars
o Tied with 30 cm long #16 tie wire
- 16 mm thk plaster only on both surfaces (Class B)
- Class B concrete for block laying and mortar.
b. Wall Footing
o Depth = 200 mm
o Width = 400 mm
o Class B concrete
c. Column
o Cross-section: 200 mm x 200 mm
o Class A concrete
d. Column Footing
o Cross sectional dimension: 600 mm x 600 mm
o Depth = 250 mm
o Class A concrete

Note: Given dimensions are in meter. Do not include estimates for reinforcements of the footings and
columns.
