NON HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT TEAM

In the times of disruption caused by Covid-19 Pandemic, the

NSS volunteers took a step forward to provide assistance in
whatever way possible. These covid helper volunteers were
assigned with different roles. While some people are working to
find beds, medicines, oxygen, plasma, etc for the patients, others
are involved in helping the patients by providing mental support
by engaging in conversations with them. The team 2 of the
Covid Helpers, the Non-Hospital Management team had been
allotted the task of sharing leads, and providing necessary info
regarding covid related resources. The volunteers Harshita
Shukla, Riya Malhotra, Radhika Garg, Aakriti, Riya Sharma,
Zarka, Aparna, Eshan, Piyush, Naman were a part of the team.
In the month of August, the team performed an array of tasks.
The volunteers collected reliable information from trusted
sources regarding the different helpline numbers, which
included child helpline, mental health helpline, vaccination
helpline, covid-19 counselling, etc. Apart from this, they
collected information on the agencies working for the children
who lost their parents due to covid. There were several digital
posters that were designed which included information
regarding food and relief resources. They shared all the
information on social media handles of NSS Society.
The volunteers made informative videos in which they discussed
the importance and effects of Covid Vaccination. They
consulted their elder ones, or parents for the same to share their
experience regarding vaccination. One of the volunteers made
an animated video which magnificently portrayed the symptoms
of Covid-19, the struggle a covid patient has to go through, and
the emotions he and his family faces in that situation.
Social media was utilized in the best way possible for assistance

The Team-3 of NSS Covid Helpers spent countless hours serving the society and aiding them in whichever way
possible.

All the volunteers worked hard to fulfill their pledge of helping people in these harsh times when people are
suffering from mental and physical exhaustion. The volunteers went around in their neighbourhood meeting
people, talking to them, providing support, listening to their problems, comforting them directly or indirectly.
They did their best to communicate in this socially distanced world.

Under this team, various goals and tasks were set and achieved to help people.

▪ Paying Tribute to Covid Warriors

The first task performed by the team was lighting candles to pay tribute to all those covid warriors
who bravely fought the battle against Corona and lost their lives saving people.. The sacrifice of all
the healthcare workers, policemen, sweepers, teachers, shopkeepers was remembered.
▪ Fighting Myths against Covid Vaccination
Under this task the volunteers met people who had taken covid vaccination and asked them about
their views on vaccination- whether they think it’s dangerous or not. From the day the vaccination
drive was started by the honourable Prime Minister, many myths have been circulating about the
hazards of covid vaccines and many people are still reluctant to take doses. So volunteers made
videos to spread awareness and reduce this fear of vaccination in people. Volunteers shared the
video in more than 20 groups and in almost all social apps . Therefore, as per the status more than
400 people got advantage because of efforts of NSS covid helpers.
▪ Awareness about Covid-19 Everyday Precautions to be taken
When Covid-19 had just started people were very careful and took all precautions to avoid the virus.
But that time has long gone. Now people have started normalising the situation. They have started
getting careless about their safety. So the team started an awareness campaign to remind people of
all the everyday precautions to be taken to stay healthy and free of corona. We got feedback from
40+ people who got help by our awareness campaign . So it’s better to be safe than sorry.
▪ Teaching elder people to use helplines provided by the Government
There are many people who don’t know about the initiatives taken by the government to help them.
Or even if they do, they are unable to use them as they have difficulty in navigating technology. The
Team of volunteers helped such people by teaching them how to access the Covid helplines provided
by the government like “Arogya Setu app”, “Cowin App” , “Covid helpline number” etc. Around 50
people got help by this initiative of volunteers.
▪ Other works
Many other noticeable works were done by the volunteers. Many people are feeling lonely and
helpless in this isolated world. They need someone to listen to them, communicate with them. The
young volunteers came forward as a listening ear to these people and offered comfort to them.
People were encouraged to share their feelings and let out their emotions rather than being cooped
up.

We all have been suffering from covid for more than one
year. People don't have that much knowledge and
awareness about the medical essentials. We lost so many
people due to it. In this situation we need a team which
can help people regarding the medical essentials.

The NSS society of Ramanujan college, university of Delhi

principal Dr S.P. Agrawal and NSS programme officer Dr
Alok Ranjan Pandey of Making covid helpers teams to
provide all information and help regarding covid.

HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT TEAM

The NSS Unit of Ramanujan College, University of Delhi, started

an initiative to spread awareness and necessary assistance
wherever required. All of this was done under the guidance and
direction of NSS Programme Officer Dr Alok Ranjan Pandey and
respected Principar Dr S.P. Aggarwal, who were the ones
primarily behind the actuation of this resourceful
programme. The programme commenced under the NSS COVID
Helpers Group, which was further divided into five teams. Each
team was allotted its own distinct responsibility. The first Team
Hospital Management Team was allocated with the governance
and charge of healthcare administration and looking at the
availability of vitally essential resources pertaining to health
and medicine.
There were ten members in the team, who ensured that every
thing occurred without any hindrance and tried to resolve
issues promptly. These volunteers included – Ruchika, Anchal,
Ishika, Khushi, Dhriti, Ruksar, Arya, Sandhya, Saksha, and Palak.
During the second wave of the pandemic, the chief objective
was to look out for credible resources like oxygen cylinders,
integral medicines, bed availability, and any sort of hospital
related requirement that came to our notice. So, to do the
same, all the reliable sources were first collected and put
together. Later on, an excel sheet containing information
about all these requirements was collated, which was then
updated daily by the members of the group. Every day started
off with volunteers checking if the organized information in
the excel sheet was authentic and if it was still available or
not. It was made sure that each and every minute detail
shared with the ailing patients and their families was
hundred percent authentic in order to avoid hassle or
confusion from our end. Moreover, when the second wave
settled down, the group was still functional and this time
the objective and aim was to spread awareness about
vaccination. The volunteers helped the needy and the
uneducated to access the COWIN Portal and took it on
themselves to register these people for vaccination.
Furthermore, reels, informational videos, posters and
other necessary messages were disseminated in multiple
groups and on the social media handles of NSS
Ramanujan, to make everyone aware of the necessity of
getting vaccinated and also, educational counselling was
given to those who were hesitant about getting themselves
jabbed. Myths, rumours, and fake news regarding
vaccination and the credibility of vaccines were eliminated
through the combined efforts of the volunteers.
The volunteers did everything in their power to educate
and dissipate necessary information to the people, and the
heads made sure that everything happened smoothly.
Overall, the Hospital Management Team delivered needed
assistance, aid and information during these erratic times.
Srijan,Tarsem, Ankit, and Avika also played a decisive role
in establishing and monitoring the group.
Team - Communicating with Covid patients
The NSS Covid Helpers Team spent endless hours helping the people directly and
more indirectly. We proudly followed the motto of – “NOT ME BUT YOU”
All the teams collaborately addressed the emergency requirements and needs of
essentials. We offered help from verified leads, social media posts, videos and
direct links. The team managed to give their best by communicating to each way
possible.

Under this team, various tasks and work was carried out to help and aware
people in every possible way.

● The foremost Task on which we worked was -VACCINATION DRIVE.

Under this, our team offered Registration help to the local people by physically
interacting with them. Proper awareness and help was offered. The people who
found it difficult and were not vaccinated yet, the team helped them book slots
and finally won the race to vaccine around 40+ people. This task was carried out
from – 25th July – 10th August. Some photos captured while doing so are attached
at the end.

● The second task which we worked on was – SPREAD AWARENESS, NOT

FEAR.

Under this, our team helped in spreading awareness by posting regularly on

social media handles regarding topics like- Food safety Advices, Positive
Mental Health, Healthy ways of coping with Stress, Vaccination Process &
Preventive Measures, A-Z Precautions to be followed, and many more links
and direct posts. The posts were available to around 300+ people, so it
indirectly helped them with the facts. This work was carried hand to hand
from 24th July. The photos are attached at the end.

● The third Task carried out was – MAKING COMMUNICATION EASIER

FOR DEAF PERSON.

Under this, Video regarding covid-19 home care which included steps to limit the
flow was created that could make communication easier with the deaf people. As
a deaf person may not be able to listen videos containing audio or answer a voice
call. So to make them allow and spread each precaution among them, a without
audio video was being created which was accessible to around 300+ people. The
