* Summary of each chapters/subtitles in the book:

Chapter 8
Mary felt something different with Moses. She couldn’t live without Moses. As Moses asked for
leaving the house, Mary begged him to stay. Dick fell ill again in malaria. Moses asked Mary to
stay in another room. Mary got horrible dreams. She was playing in the small dusty garden with
her friends who had no faces. And her father caught her head and held it against the top of his
legs with his small hairy hands to cover her eyes, laughing and joking about her mother hiding.

Chapter 9
Charlie realized, that he had not visited Dick. He went to the farm, but nothing different. Then he
went to Dick’s house with Dick. He saw that Mary was going strange. Charlie told Dick to sell
his farm to Charlie, and take a holiday, and he’ll get someone to look after the farm. Then
Charlie found a man to manage the farm named Tony Marston. Tony saw that Mary was sitting
on the bed in her underwear, and Moses stood behind her, helping her to pull her dress back on.
Moses noticed Tony and looked at him with evil look. Mary came out of the bedroom and saw
Tony and looked at him with sudden fear. Moses appeared, and Tony shouted to him to go away
and Mary shouted too. Dick asked where Moses was, Mary said that she had sent him away.
Dick decided to do nothing.

Chapter 10
Mary missed Moses and felt guilty about it. Moses killed Mary.

* Two questions that I have for the author related to the story:
1. Why Moses kills Mary when she felt guilty about him?
2. Why Mary is just using her underwear when she was in the bedroom in front of Moses?

* One thing that I thought was the most interesting:

Charlie wants Dick’s farm but Charlie still wants to help Dick.
