Tutorial Questions

1) Give one example where you had to make a decision based on its end or consequences.

2) Give your opinion on psychological egoism. Discuss if you think it is “good to bring benefit to
yourself at the expense of others”. Why or why not. Give examples wherever applicable.

3) Assume the business makes a good amount of profit but the employees are not at benefit at all.
There are no incentives for promotions, increments or bonuses for employees. Which ethical
philosophy has been followed? Explain.

4) State some of the advantages and disadvantages of deontological ethics.

5) Discuss a situation where you as a consumer faced some problems with a business or
government organization. Advise the steps you took to solve your problem or suggest the steps
that should have been taken.

6) Discuss the quality of “customer service” in Fiji. Suggest solutions wherever possible.

7) Discuss the importance of good environment. Suggest some ways how you as a student can help
improve the environment.
