The illegal cutting down of trees or logging by exploitative people is currently one of
the problems of an environment that affects both people and animals that live in the
forest. Illegal cutting is against the law, and we should consider the ramifications for
ourselves. Illegal tree felling has a major impact on us and other living things happening
in the world, and we may lose access to the tools we get from trees, such as fruits,
paper, and pencils, among other things. We may also lose the oxygen we breathe
because the leaf filters the carbon dioxide we absorb, which is then filtered into trees
and converted to oxygen.
The rapid destruction and loss of forest trees are a major concern. As a result of
indiscriminate tree cutting, the forest has become empty. It came to the stage where
people who take advantage of or misuse the practice of chopping down trees, and
others profit from it. The value of a tree cannot be overstated, particularly in the event of
a disaster; it prevents flooding because its root is the one that absorbs the water. This
subject needs to be addressed in schools so that students are more aware of how it can
affect them. One of my small ventures, which we will also lead, is to inspire our fellow
students to plant trees. Where we could all contribute to our environment and learn from
it at this generation. The propagation of information and proper maintenance of our
trees, which also serve as a great aid in our everyday lives, is an important part of this
advocacy for the advancement of my statement.
Since tree felling is regulated by law, it must follow certain rules. Anyone who cuts,
harvests, extracts, or removes trees or final products from the forest or additional land
without proper permission or permission from the government to comply with the rules
and regulations violates Presidential Act No. 705, also known as the Revised Forest
Code. The law is punishable by imprisonment under Articles 309 and 310 of the
Revised Penal Code. According to the total or value of the felled tree, the maximum
penalty under the law is 6 years and 1 day to 12 years in prison. Section 68 of the P.D.
705 contains the relevant law.
