A. Description
The article is all about the molecular guardians that monitor chromosomes during the
biological process. One in every of the worst things which will happen to a cell is to finish up
with the incorrect number of chromosomes. This could happen if something goes wrong during
cell division, and it can result in infertility, miscarriages, birth defects, or cancer. The molecular
guardians are called "shugoshin" which implies guardian spirit in Japanese which was discovered
by Bhalla and published on October 4 in Current Biology. They play a very important role in
meiosis for their those that founded the right structure of chromosomes, and that they also make
sure the proper progression of recombination.
B. Interpretation
I have understood from this article is how chromosomes monitor themselves throughout
the complex choreography of biological process to stop such errors. Bhalla focuses on a special
kind of cellular division, called meiosis, that produces eggs in females and sperm in males. The
salient point which will be, seen during this article is that chromosomes must do during meiosis,
it is a wonder the method ever produces a viable egg or sperm. This can be called recombination,
which involves chromosomes exchanging whole sections of DNA. Another thing is that the
chromosomal monitoring system she studies involves a series of checkpoints to make sure that
every step-in meiosis is completed properly before the cell moves on to the following step.
C. Evaluation
The thing I like the most about this article is the chromosomes hold an organism's genetic
blueprint in their DNA. Also, I've got learned about the chromosomes participate within the
monitoring of their behavior. There is a beauty in this because they're active participants where
you'd expect them to be passive," Bhalla said. The thing that triggered my interest in this article
is that the misfortunes that are described early within the article. Having heard of such incidents
in humans is extremely terrifying within which also triggered me on a way to find cures. They'll
be manipulated in several ways has an advantage to society. If I have a question for the author, I
would wish to ask him/her is what was one of all the foremost surprising belongings you learned
in creating your books and what was the strategy that he/she used. This article has a bearing on
me and plenty of data that I gain today that help my career within the future. The knowledge
behind this is often an excellent help since plants are all around us and such knowledge is widely
applicable. This article can be useful to my career as a future teacher because of what I've got
understood during this article that I will be able to use for my future students so that they need a
stronger understanding of this subject.
