Learning Outcomes:
 identify the meaning of art from a diverse landscape through expressing one's initial
understanding on art
 define what is art and identify why there is art

WHAT IS ART?
Discussion Questions:

1. What is your definition of art?


2. Can art be present in our daily encounters in life?
3. Is there a purpose that art serve us? What is it?

WHY THERE IS ART


 The human brain is curious.
 If lacking art, it would be harder for us to keep interest by entertaining ourselves with any
of art’s many forms.
 Human beings cannot remain human without art.
 To satisfy human hunger: to create, contemplate, possess and repossess.
 Messages conveyed by visual art cannot be put into words without great loss. They can
only be fully conveyed by means of their colors and shapes, which in turn arouse
kinaesthetic and synesthetic responses, for which there is hardly any vocabulary.
