A fine example HOW GOVERNMENTS PLAY WITH THE FEELINGS OF THE

MASSES and with their money

Here is yet another f ine example of HOW GOVERNMENTS PLAY WITH THE FEELINGS OF THE
MASSES and yes, with their money too.

First go through these headlines:

INDIA WINS CRICKET WORLD CUP

1. All Players in Indian team will receive Hyundai Verna Cars as Gift which is sponsored by Hyundai Motor India
Limited.
2. BCCI will give 1 crore each to players of Indian team.
3. BCCI will give Indian cricket team Coach and Support Staff Rs.50 lakhs each.
4. BCCI will give Team selectors Rs.25 lakhs each.
5. Delhi State Government has announced Rs.2 Crore for MS Dhoni.
6. Delhi residents like Virender Sehwag, Gautham Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Ashish Nehra will get Rs. 1
Crore each.
7. Indian Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that all Indian team players will get Free First AC
Passes for life time.
8. All Indian team members will get 4000 sq ft Residential sites in Bangalore as announced by te
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yadiyurappa.
9. Indian Coach Gari Kristen and Support Staff will also be given prizes by the Karnataka Government.
10. Gujarat State Government will give Ekalavya Sports Award of Rs.1 Lakh each to Munaf Patel and
Yusuf Patan.
11. Uttarakhand State Government will give residential plot or a bungalow in the hill station of
Mussoorie for Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
12. Maharashtra State Government announced Rs. 1 crore for Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan.
13. Punjab State Government will give Rs. 1 crore to Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh.
14. Assam State Government announced a cash award of Rs 1 lakh to each of the Indian team members.
It really sounds nice, because its about INDIA, my beloved country. But my sense of responsibility towards
my countrymen is compelling me to write, though i know i'm not good at it.

I have no problem with the first four headlines, but Yes, the rest of them do bothers me, and it should bother
to each every responsible citizen.

Whats the point that government offices, not one, is o ffering crores in gift to the players. The BCCI gives
them millions I'm not bothered but why and on whose authority that the hard earned money of common
people is being showered on the players by the governments of Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand,..............

When the Supreme Court of India said that the government must distribute the grains free of cost to the poor
and needy instead of letting it to rot in government godowns, the Prime Minister bluntly said that the court
must not interfere in government policies, and that they cannot follow court orders in this case..... but now
they can bestow thousands and crores on people who just won a match....?????

It’s because cricket is no t considered merely a game in INDIA, but I ask why ???? Try to just imagine if
India had missed the cup, everybody would have then rightly realized and said that "It’s just a GAME, we
will win next time" but when we've won, i can't figure out HOW THIS CAN BECOME A MATTER OF
NATIONAL IMPORTANCE, what a farmer gets when India wins, what a rickshaw-puller achieves from it?
What a common man gets out of this...?

It’s just to exploit the feelings of the masses. If we people don't give this game undue importance, this
money could have been utilised for the welfare of the common man.

ONE MORE POINT I HAVE TO MAKE

India won the Cricket WORLD CUP, this statement is itself a LIE, the truth is "the BCCI's cricket team won
the CUP"..... I know most of u will differ, but only because of your emotional attachment with the Cricket
game and its players. The fact is :

"The BCCI is a "private club consortium". It is a society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies
Registration Act. It's not the apex governing body in India." I need not to go into the whole history of BCCI.

I don't say that I'm not happy, i am and i wish that the people who belong to my country outperform others in
every field, be it any sport or technology, I want my country to be called the best place to live in, i want good
health standards, good social standards, fair legal system in my country. i wish no one dies out of poverty and
need. I wish no more innocents trapped in false cases and executed. I wish each and every child to have basic
education, and more important is that they get necessary health facilities, food so they can live; after all life is
more important than getting education.

In the end i'm still left with the same question..

where are those people for whom politics was a way to serve humanity ?
where are those people who lived by principles, of living for others ?
