FACILITIES
The library media center is an integral and indispensable
component of the school and the curriculum, and the facilities that
make up this center are critical.  The Media Center is no longer a
room simply housing the instructional materials of the school.  It is
the center from which there is a constant flow of materials,
equipment, service, and learning experiences to the various areas,
students, faculty, and staff of the school.

To provide such an active and diverse program, a physical

environment that includes these concepts is required.

 Accessibility - The Media Center must be easily accessible to all students, faculty and
staff.

 Flexibility - It is necessary that the Media Center be flexible so that expansion or

alteration of space can accommodate changes in concept, programs, and materials.

 Environment - The environment of the Media Center should be pleasant, visually

attractive, and conducive to maximum learning by individual, small and/or large groups.
