Topic/Issue #1:The Kaliwa Dam and the Marginalization of the Indigenous People
Design: How do you plan to execute it? In what form?
Social Media Campaign and a forum with a speaker
Rationale/Significance (at least 5 sentences): We want to further explore the issue on the Kaliwa
Dam because we think that this issue, as well as the issue surrounding our Indigenous People is
something that is not commonly talked about. By looking into the political issue surrounding this
conflict, we want to be able to analyze this topic further, as well as bring awareness to the great
injustice our Indigenous People are currently facing. Given that this topic also looks into the
marginalization of the IP sector, we want to be able to further understand their current state by also
having an intersectional reading of this political issue. By inviting a speaker who is well versed in this
issue, we aim to raise awareness regarding IP rights, as well as other concerns surrounding this.
Additionally, through a social media campaign, we want to put forward how relevant this is,
especially as to how the government bullies the marginalized communities.

Topic/Issue #2:The VFA Termination

Design: How do you plan to execute it? In what form?
Social Media Campaign and a Forum with a speaker
Rationale/Significance (at least 5 sentences): Something as recent as the termination of the VFA is
something that is currently relevant today. We chose this as our second topic as it highlights a
possibly international conflict that puts Filipinos at a disadvantage. Additionally, the political message
that this topic emphasizes is something that we wanted to explore further. With this, we wanted to
look into the VFA, and see what the implications are with having it terminated. What steps can we do,
as citizens of the Philippines, to place this issue at a level that is relevant to other national concerns?

Topic/Issue #3:Public Health and Public Perception

Design: How do you plan to execute it? In what form?
Social Media Campaign and a Forum with a speaker
Rationale/Significance (at least 5 sentences): With the spread of fake news, Public Health has been
compromised as the issues surrounding vaccination has been sensationalized. With this, we chose this
topic to be able to teach and spread awareness of the issues surrounding healthcare (or the lack of) in
the Philippines. We want to look into the budget the DOH receives, the public perception of health, as
well as a myriad of other issues that are part of this issue. Given this, we want the general public to be
more aware of what it means to be vaccinated. Additionally, we want to debunk fake news that
surround the issue of vaccination.
